Holy vintage
This is the bible that is believed to be the oldest book in our Holy Cross School library. It is 64 years old and is thought to have belonged to the Marist Brothers.
The Catholic Family Bible has been passed down from librarian to librarian as well the Marist Brothers. The current caretaker of the book is our lovely librarian, Mrs Clarke.
The beautiful illustrations were done by the hands of French artist, Joseph Jacques. This amazing book even has copies of letters from Popes, Leo the 13th, Benedict the 15th and Pius the 12th.
The poor bible has several tears and in the beautiful paper, a page has been completely detached. It really has been in the wars. Published in 1950 and with 1,164 pages, this book really is Holy Vintage!
