The Roxburgh Rock
There used to be a power pole where the Roxburgh Rock is. It was the only power pole left in the main street of Roxburgh.
The shape of the power pole used to be square and it was wooden. The power came from the Teviot River.
This power pole was removed from its place because the Roxburgh Community Board thought that the wires looked really untidy, that's why they put the wires underground. Because of the power pole's history they decided to place a rock that has a plaque in its place instead.
The rock came from Mr Allen Michelle's farm. He was the Community Board Chairman at the time. There was an official opening for the rock and a lot of people attended.
