Team Tiniroto
My name is Jessica and I am 11 years old, turning 12 soon. I go to Tiniroto School and I am a Year 7. My favourite subject is literacy, art and P.E! I have one pet rabbit named Taddy, one cat called Mookie and a dog named Sam. I love horses and I have 3 horses called Tina, Rock and Ecko (who is an ex-race horse). I race in the local horse sports. I like competing in horse sports because I love being around horses and also the adrenaline of racing. I also really like playing hockey for YMP DDD and my team is the top team in my age group. This year l am in the Poverty Bay Under 13 girls hockey team and most of my team from YMP DDD are in it. I am really enjoying finding out information about my area. This is a great experience for writing my report about Tiniroto. I have found out a lot about Tiniroto communication and what Tiniroto stands for. The highlight has been learning all of the new things that I didn’t know before.
Hi my name is Hamish, I am a Year 8 at Tiniroto School. I play rugby for Ngatapa and the Country North Reps, usually I play number 8. I like riding my motorbike on the farm and helping my parents working on the farm. We live very close to the Hangaroa River and I go trout fishing and swimming in the summer. I have enjoyed finding out the interesting things about farming in the old days; I think it must have been near impossible but they did it!
Hello my name is Matewai, I am 10 years old and I am a Year 6 at Tiniroto School. Trampolining is my favourite sport because you get to learn different tricks which can be hard and really cool. I also love gymnastics because it helps me get fit and do lots of cool tricks like back flips and forward flips. My two favourite sports I like playing are rugby and soccer because in soccer you get to learn foot skills and it rugby you learn how to pass the ball kick the ball and also tackle. I really love and I mean love dancing I am very good at hip hop and crumping. When I went to the dancing competition I came first place out of the ten year olds. I have three pet cats called Moot, Buggy and Spoke. I also have two pet dogs called Lizzy and Paui. I have a horse called George and she is very good at jumping over things. She also loves running and she is a pig sometimes but I love her so much. I have enjoyed doing this activity because it has shown me about the history of Tiniroto and our area. I love doing this heritage because I get to learn different things about our area and it is very cool because the whole world gets to see it and I can’t wait.
My name is Reuben and I am 9 yrs old and I go to Tiniroto School as a Year 5. I really like playing with my dogs Meg and Mack. I also like to play soccer and going swimming with my Mum and Dad. I have 5 horses and my favourite is called Scout. I also like playing on my bike and doing cool tricks, like going down the driveway and skidding. The things I enjoyed about finding information about my area is finding out about the Moa and that it lived in Tiniroto, it has also been a great way to practice my report writing and researching.
My name is Justice and I am 9 yrs old and go to Tiniroto School as a Year 5. I really like playing soccer and tag with my friends at school. I have a pet cat named Mazy and I also have 24 chicks at my house! I like playing with my family and with my cousin. The thing I like the most about learning about my area was finding out new information about the Tiniroto Tavern and also learning new things about my area.
Hi my name is Levi, I am in Year 6 at Tiniroto. I have a pig dog his name is Nugget and I have a cat too. My favourite sports are playing rugby for Ngatapa U10 and whenever we can, we go hunting for wild pigs and deer. My favourite part of the year is spring because I want to dock the lambs, my job is catching them. My favourite subject at school is writing narrative stories and Maths. I have really enjoyed finding out about my own station and it's been interesting getting the answers to the questions.
My name is James and I am 12 yrs old and I go to Tiniroto School as a Year 8. I really like playing rugby and soccer on Saturday. I play for U13 Ngatapa Nippers. I also like playing with my cousins and with the dogs. My favourite subject at school is reading. The thing I liked the most about learning about my area was interviewing people to find out things that they knew.

My favourite subject at school is writing. The thing I liked the most about Tiniroto is the rivers because I like swimming and fishing in them.

My name is Crevice and I am in Year 6 at Tiniroto School. I really like playing soccer and running around playing. My favourite subject at school is writing narratives. The thing I like the most about Tiniroto is that it sometimes snows!
Hi my name is Matheson and I am a Year 6 at Tiniroto School. My favourite sport is rugby, I play for Ngatapa HRV. My hobby is working on the farm and fishing. I go down to the river and catch trout. I really like pig hunting. When I get home from school I like jumping and doing tricks on the trampoline. I have enjoyed finding out the history of the rivers around Tiniroto.
My name is Ethan and I go to Tiniroto School as a Year 5. My favourite subject at school is P.E. and maths. I have one horse called Major that I ride around the farm and did the Tiniroto Trek on this year. This year I am doing trampolining for my sport. At the last competition I got a gold and a silver medal. My favourite thing in this study was when the Koka Jean came from the Tairawhiti Museum and told us the legend of Hinekoraho and Ruamano who were two taniwha who made the rivers for us.
My name is Taylor and I go to Tiniroto School as a year 4. My favourite subject is writing narratives and P.E! I have two dogs and two cats. The thing that I like the most about Tiniroto is we learn a lot outside of school as well as in school.
Hi my name is Pace and I go to school at Tiniroto as a Year 3. My favourite subject at school is maths and writing stories. I really like swimming, biking and running. I like it when it snows and I have chickens and a rooster called “Cheep Cheep”. The thing I like most about Tiniroto is going for a swim in the river when it's hot in summer.
Hi my name is Ellie and I am a Year 1 student at Tiniroto School. I love reading and writing my words. I like it when it's summer and we have swimming lessons. I love it when it's the juniors turn to make healthy lunches. I live on Tiniroto Station and we have lots of animals. Our pet dog is called Mouse, my pony is called Petra and we have a cat called Shadow. I have two pet rats too, called Beebee and Angelina. The thing I like most about Tiniroto is that you can have heaps of animals and we can have pet lambs.
