Khandallah Street names

We are year 6 students at Cashmere Avenue School in Khandallah, Wellington. We decided to participate in the Living Heritage programme to create a web page on livingheritage.org.nz.

We studied and researched the history of the Khandallah street names. In the very early times of Wellington city, the Bridle Track and Porirua Road were used to get in and out of Khandallah, and to go from Wellington to Porirua. It was a military road during this time and a sentry post was located on what is now called Boxhill.
