Learning outcomes

As part of our literacy programme, we were learning to write newspaper articles.

The outcomes for the students were:

to identify the main elements of newspapers: headlines, bylines, captions, lead story, photographs
to create suitable questions to interview others: open questions rather than closed
to write articles/reports including standard features: 5W's, inclusion of facts rather than opinion
to take appropriate photographs and provide captions
to learn about making an online newspaper.
