DESCRIPTION: The Pilot's Cottage was built in 1886 at Worser Bay, Wellington. It was the first dwelling in the area. One of the first occupants was James Heberley, known as 'Old Worser' because, when he was a harbour pilot he often used to describe the weather as getting 'worser and worser', hence the name of Worser Bay.
