Our school, Hauraki Primary, is near Shoal Bay, a sheltered tidal mangrove forest on the North Shore of the Waitemata Harbour.  This is only a short walk from school and field trips enabled us to see what the mangroves look like close up.
We were also looking for any other plants and animals that lived in the same habitat. Staying on the shell banks, we were careful not take any plants or animals away with us so that we didn’t damage the environment.
