Room 14 at Oamaru Intermediate wanted to help celebrate the 75th Jubilee of North Otago rugby. They brainstormed what they already knew about North Otago rugby, organised people to interview, composed and practised questions, collated all their information, and created this website.
St Joseph's School in Oamaru learned about their town's walkways. Their focus question was "In what way do the Oamaru walkways contribute to the well being of the community?" Each walkway is profiled and described, capturing elements of Oamaru's history along the way.
The Honeymoon Pool, also known as Te Kiri o Hinekai, is a healing pool that is a treasure to local people. It is set in the grounds of Wairakei Terraces, just north of Taupo, right beside the Wairakei geothermal field. The Year 6 ICT extension group of Wairakei Primary School have been researching the pool. Their website tells about the pool today, the pool in the past and how it is imagined the pool might be in the future. It also describes the restoration of the pool.
Room 6 at Oamaru Intermediate School decided to create a website to show the world the art and artists located in and around the historic precinct in Oamaru. The website records interviews that the students carried out with local artists and galleries, and shows pictures of some artists and their work.
This website is about the Palmerston North Public Library, from its origins as a 'reading room', to the occupation of an architecturally renowned building. This website endeavours to inform you of the cultural, economic, and social importance the library has had and continues to have in its community.
Elmwood Normal School in Christchurch has created a website about the student's observations and experiences as they tramped from Taylor's Mistake to Boulder Bay on the Banks Peninsula. The students shared their experiences through their writing and photographs as part of the Living Heritage initiative.
Campbells Bay Primary School in Auckland has created a website about the history of their school as part of the Living Heritage initiative. Users can discover a sample of the school's life through the decades, from the 1925 opening to the Year 2000. The website includes interviews with a past pupils, and images that reflect the changes that have occured over the years.
St Josephs School in Oamaru has created a website about the little blue penguin colony in Oamaru as part of the Living Heritage initiative. Visitors to the site can find out about little blue penguins, their diet, nesting, life at sea, and the penguin hospital.
Campbells Bay Primary School in Auckland has created a website about the history of Kennedy Park, as part of the Living Heritage initiative. Visitors to the site can trace the history of the park from when it was the site of Rahopara Pa over 350 years ago, to the role it played during World War II by having gun emplacements, to how today's local community use it as a recreational area.
